U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
SMART recently was awarded a contract by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to convert its computer based Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) training system to an web-based system which will provide an increase in its reach and effectiveness, and help reduce the number of cases brought against the agency. This system will also enable VHA to decrease training and travel costs and improve the quality of Prevention of Sexual Harassment training offered to VHA employees, nationwide.

Army Materiel Command
SMART designed a registration database for Civilian Engineers and Scientists so that users can register, set up a profile and receive automated notification via email when a job becomes available that matches their requirements. The database receives live feeds from the central army database. Users receive feedback through a forum by having their queries answered by SMART or AMC technical support personnel. All the questions and responses are stored in a central database and become part of an ever-expanding corporate knowledge base. The effort included web development, database design and deployment, server administration, and organizational effectiveness analysis--including statistical characterizations and business process reengineering. As a follow-on to their acceptance of many of the recommendations, SMART is updating and reorganizing their documentation, and implementing new methods for applicants and current employees to access and interact with the program, both physically and electronically.

Department of the Army Transportation Information Systems
SMART Technology, Inc. performs facility management support services for the Department of the Army Transportation Information Systems project at Fort Belvoir, VA. SMART is responsible for the complete maintenance of the facility and grounds as well as enhanced security. SMART provides its client with up-to-the-minute information concerning personnel, costs, and project status. SMART also developed an automated Facility Management Program that integrates the latest technology and software to electronically track computer hardware and software for each facility.

U.S. Department of Transportation's National Highway Institute
SMART Technology was contracted by the U.S. Department of Transportation's National Highway Institute to design, develop and implement its new informational site. The result was an award-winning site with an ease of use and esthetic beauty that was one of the first designed for the federal government. Based upon the input provided by the Institute, SMART prioritized and reorganized its information into three main areas which simplified the site and the paths that Users need to find the 'specifics' that meet their goals and objectives.

The Army Corps of Engineers (COE)
The Army Corps of Engineers (COE) was looking for a way to inform both Army and civilian personnel of new and upcoming employment positions. Utilizing its database and web site design expertise, SMART developed a web site that specialized in providing the registrants with up to date job vacancy announcements. This completely automated web based application was designed to free the user from continuously monitoring the Army CPOL vacancy announcement website. Users could now register just once, and wait for appropriate job notifications to be sent to them via e-mail based on their profile. This helped the Corps of Engineers to save time and money and also considerably reduce the paper trails and phone calls.

U.S. ARMY Program Management Office SBA
SMART developed and installed four Lotus Notes databases between and within PMOSBA offices at Ft. Belvoir and its satellite locations, conducting an initial requirements analysis and subsequent deployment. SMART created numerous databases, including electronic E-mail, presentation database, suspense tracking system, engineering forum database, and a discussion database which facilitates optimum utilization of the other databases. Through Notes MHS Gateway, SMART is enabling translation of E-mail from Beyond Mail and Microsoft Exchange. SMART also configured and installed Lotus Notes SMTP Gateway, allowing full integration with the Internet, and installed Lotus Notes Fax Gateway, which allows faxes to be transmitted and accessed electronically

GSA NCR (Information Technology Service)
SMART installed a variety of groupware application packages on 150 workstations to provide intranet connectivity. Task involved verification of existing server configuration and ensuring proper connectivity to Web Navigator on the server.

Marine Corps System Command
SMART Technology, Inc. currently provides Lotus Notes administration and development support to the Marine Corps System Command Information System Management Branch at Quantico, VA. Activities also include Web site design and development, systems engineering support and systems configuration services. SMART engineers have installed and made operational both Lotus Notes Domino and Microsoft IIS servers and are providing system security design support.

DMC-Warner Robins
SMART provided consulting and technical services to system administrators to increase productivity, reduce response time, and improve throughput. Task also included communication to OS/2 remote clients using TCP/IP as the network protocol.

U.S. Marshals Service
SMART provided turnkey, specialized systems and peripherals to enhance the agency's unique requirements. Our services included UNIX support, computer hardware support, including system upgrades and maintenance, as well as complete system and software training.

The City of Alexandria's JobLink Program
The City of Alexandria's JobLink Program was put in place to help underemployed, unemployed, and other citizens of Alexandria as well as Arlington County (Virginia) gain new skills and training. SMART Technology developed a web-portal for the program, which gives contact, program, and other information as well as access to over 1600 on-line courses. Additionally the portal was designed to fit into the look and feel of an overall marketing and image campaign that SMART designed for the JobLink program.



Educational Institutions

Grambling State University
SMART was hired by Grambling State University (GSU) to develop the infrastructure for a project funded by the U.S. Department of Commerce to provide Internet access to underserved rural homes in the state of Louisiana. Entitled "The Rural Internet Connection Project", GSU is providing computers to several rural churches as well as many of their congregational members and SMART is providing the website and portal design. The portal design is an exciting, effective and user-friendly interface derived from SMART's proprietary TeCCRA enterprise portal solution. This system will be used to manage and accomplish the goals of the Louisiana Rural Internet Connection project.

TeCCRA will also provide GSU staff access to, and interaction with, information vital to assess internet usage by the underserved community and to fulfill the requirements of the Department of Commerce grant.



Non-Profit Organizations

The Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council
The Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council (VMSDC) trades over $3 Billion dollars a year between its corporate members and minority suppliers. SMART Technology provides an on-line web-enabled membership services portal that allows VMSDC's corporate and minority-owned members to maintain and update profiles with established internal workflow approval thresholds for VMSDC staff. Moreover, these profiles are seamlessly integrated with the Councils' internal membership database. The membership services portal also provides realtime posting and maintenance through the Council's BizBoard module. Members receive automatic emails and notices directly from the BizBoard as directed each user's profile.

E.C. Reems International Ministries
E.C. Reems International Ministries chose SMART Technology, Inc. to provide a portal and a brand image for its worldwide members and followers. The site highlights the founders and leaders of the ministries, as well as news and current events. Before the site was created, getting information to the members and followers of the ministries was a time consuming and expensive process. With the web site, information is updated instantaneously.

United Christian Evangelistic Association
SMART Technology migrated their mainframe-based legacy system to client/server environment and a local area network. SMART performed groupware integration services, automation management and support. SMART also provided long-term ad hoc support for user requests and performed troubleshooting.



Commercial Clients

SmarTV
SmarTV needed an Internet-based vehicle to showcase its clients' broadcast television appearances, while providing them with a dynamic web presence. In order to fulfill this "convergence of television and the web" philosophy, SMART Technology, Inc. designed, implemented and presently hosts a state of the art site, complete with video streaming on demand, surveys, direct links to client web sites, pages that market their distinct capabilities, and the means to produce and distribute marketing videos, DVDs, and CDs. SmarTV's services include: video streaming, web broadcasting, video teleconferencing, distance learning, video marketing products, television commercials, product demonstrations and promotions, public service announcements, corporate videos, video news releases, infomercials, and instructional videos.

The Cardiovascular Center of Northern Virginia
The Cardiovascular Center of Northern Virginia needed a site that would best describe its availability as a family practice medical facility for the northern Virginia community. SMART Technology was able to provide a site that not only included essential information about the Cardiovascular Center's practice and procedures, but descriptions of all its practicing medical professionals, staff, history of the center, its hours of operation and simplified directions to its facility. Additionally, SMART created a brand image and logo for the center.

The Cyber Beauty Mall
The Cyber Beauty Mall needed a web site that evoked "classic beauty" to distribute its products on-line. SMART Technology, Inc. designed a user-friendly site that enabled the owners of the Cyber Beauty Mall to add and delete products, provide helpful hints, application and ingredient information and price adjustments whenever needed. SMART designed the site to evoke thoughts of romance and classic beauty.

Select Auto Imports (SAI)
SMART Technology took Select Auto Imports (SAI) from a "brick and mortar" to a "click and order" business. In order to reach its geographically diverse clientele, Select Auto Imports needed a site that would display its ever-changing inventory over the web. This includes product descriptions, specifications and pricing accompanied by photographs of automobiles in the inventory. SMART created input templates that enable SAI's non-technical employees to update and change inventory directly from their own facility. The site also has the capability to enable potential purchasers to apply for financing and place orders over the web.

Real Estate by Sam
In order to reach the maximum number of potential real estate clients, Real Estate by Sam requested that SMART Technology design and implement a web site where clients could research new and resale properties. SMART built a site that contains descriptions and display photos of all properties listed by Real Estate by Sam as well as contacts for other real estate services. The site was designed to enable the staff of Real Estate by Sam to easily update its content on-line themselves.

The Corning Consumer Products Company
The Corning Consumer Products Company (CCPC) is a huge organization with many compartmentalized divisions, departments, products and brands. The product managers sometimes did not know about the entire product/brand range offered by their parent organization and thus pursued strategies which would cut into company profits as a whole.

SMART created a portal for CCPC, which helped the management in educating and disseminating information to the brand/product managers and employees about the various products of the company and their positioning in the market relative to each other and the competition. Additionally, SMART also created a corporate screen saver for managers to remind them of their goals and create brand awareness and thus help in the marketing process.
